A trike is essentially a powered hang glider. It takes off and lands on wheels like an airplane and is controlled through weight-shift.
Sure, come find us at 801 Green Forest Granite Shoals, also known as Bob Sylvester Airpark. Feel free to call us in advance at (512) 467-2529 so we can let you know what time we are flying that day!
Our Intro to Trike flying is about 30 minutes.
Our Mile High Glide Down is about 40 minutes.
We allow folks to feel the flight controls in most flights. Not all folks want to take control, so it is up to the individual in our intro flights. Students continuing to learn of course get lots of time flying the aircraft.
Our aircraft carries one instructor and one student. So you and your wife will fly one after the other at separate times.
We have maintained a 100% saftey record for over 40 years and here is why: Our two seater trikes are registered aircraft with the FAA and maintain inspection schedules and oversight. Modern trikes such as ours are rated for more G force than most conventional aircraft. We only fly in fair weather and in the rare event the engine shuts off, the aircraft converts into a glider and the slow flight envelope enables the aircraft to have many landing options. As a last resort in an extremely rare event, our aircraft carries a rocket extracted parachute.
The feeling of being alive while flying comes with risks, but minimizing those risks is how we have been operating for over 40 years.
We recommend you wear close-toed shoes and socks. No open-toed shoes or sandals. Bring sunglasses or other protective eyewear, though we do have loaners available. Generally come dressed comfortable for the outside temperature.
Bring water, something to snack on and a great attitude! You are going to fly!
The engine has a four blade propellor which turns slowly, and an exhaust silencer designed for noise reduction. Additionally, we fly with passive noise canceling headsets with an intercom feature for communicating with your instructor.
We are a small unique business. We do things on a case by case basis. If rescheduling is not an option, then we look at returns as an option.
